Common Uses of Temperature Controllers

Industrial temperature regulators work almost similarly as they do in normal household applications. Operation of factory or laboratory heating and cooling processes is given by a simple temperature control device. For a standard device, the ambient temperature is determined by sensors. This perceived temperature is regularly contrasted with a setpoint for the customer. The sensor produces a feedback signal as the real temperature diverges from the setpoint to enable certain temperature controlling equipment, such as heating elements or refrigeration parts, in order to get the temperature back to its setpoint. An example of a good temperature controller is OMRON’s temperature controller.

Temperature controllers are used for the management of production processes or operations in various industries. Plastic extrusion and injection molding devices, thermoforming devices, labeling equipment, food manufacturing, food storage, and blood banks are several popular applications for temperature regulators in industry. Some of the common uses of temperature controllers are listed in this article.

Heat Treat / Oven

Temperature regulators are found within furnaces, boilers and heat exchangers in ovens and heat treatment applications.

Packaging

Machinery fitted with seal bars, glue applicators, hot melt features, shrink wrap tubes, or label applicators in the packaging environment may run at specified temperatures and cycle time intervals. Temperature regulators manage such activities specifically to ensure a high quality performance of the drug.

Plastics

Throughout the plastics industry, temperature regulation is popular on portable chillers, hoppers and dryers, and molding and extruding machines. Temperature regulators are used in extruding machines to reliably track and regulate temperatures at various crucial points in plastic output.

Healthcare

Within the healthcare sector, temperature sensors are used to improve temperature regulation precision. Different temperature controller equipment involves laboratory and research equipment, incubators, refrigeration equipment, and crystallization growth chambers and research chambers where specimens have to be stored or experiments have to be performed under different temperature limits.

Food & Beverage

Popular applications for food processing that require temperature controls include fermentation, mixing, sterilization, and baking and cooking ovens. To ensure maximum efficiency, the controllers monitor the temperature and/or the cycle time.
